‘Thoughts'

Great Qualities of the Mind

Greek – ‘Sophia' = Wisdom ( I Corinthians 1:21 )

This is insight into the true nature of things. There is the wisdom which sees the ultimate truths of God.

Greek ‘Phronesis' = Wisdom ( Luke 1:17 )

This is the ability to discern appropriate modes of action with a view of their results. There is the wisdom that practices the truths of God in fulfillment of His great purposes.

James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

James 1:22 “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

Greek – ‘Sunesis' = Understanding ( Ephesians 3:4 )

This is to set things together in order to perceive. There is an understanding of the knowledge of God that perfectly joins us together.

1 Corinthians 1:10 “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”

Greek – ‘Exartizo' = Complete ( II Timothy 3:17 )

This is to fit out, round out, make whole, or completely furnish. There is an instruction born of heaven that can make man whole in the eyes of God.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Greek – ‘Tapeinophrosune' = Humility ( Ephesians 4:2 )

This is a humility or lowliness of our own mind. There is wisdom so far above our own; that it requires us to humble ourselves before it.

Philippians 2:3 “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.”

These are some of the great qualities of the mind

that the scriptures advocate for unity in the

will of God!
