SAMUEL
This
book is a continuation of the previous (I Samuel); it is only separated
by the main subject. It is traditionally thought that Nathan and
Gad actually penned this later portion of the book of Samuel, however,
there is little internal evidence.
The

book breaks down in three different periods:

and Jonathan 1:17-27

over all Israel
is of God 5:1-12

power in military success 5:20

the ark 6:1-5

13:22
-23
And when He had removed
him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony
and said, 'I have found David the son of Jesse,
a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.' 23
From this man's seed,
according to the promise, God raised up for Israel
