A father to his child: “Here is a gift for you!”

• The majority of children today : “I don't want that”, or, “I want that other thing”, or, “that's not what my friends have”, or, “that's all!”

• The majority of children brought up several decades ago : “Thank you father!”

The heavenly Father to His children:

2 Peter 1:2-4

“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness , through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue , 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises , that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature , having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

• The majority of Christians today : “I don't want that”, or, “I want what the other man has”, or, “that's not what everyone else is doing”, or, “that's all!”

• The majority of Christians born of the word of truth and faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, in death, burial, and resurrection to life, having made us alive who were dead in our trespasses and sins : “Thank you Father!”

Ephesians 3:8-11

“To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ , 9 and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery , which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; 10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord,”
