If
heaven is worth anything, it is worth everything. The Bible being true,
the life beyond the grave is a reality, and the hope of heaven is the
sweetest and dearest hope that has yet entered and thrilled the human
heart. Salvation and the hope it brings is yet one more enormous reason
to love our God.
To
the man of faith, the man who believes the Bible to be the word of God,
the man whose heart and whose life are cheered, comforted, and encouraged
by the revelations of the Bible, there is nothing darker than to be without
God and without hope. Faithlessness offers no consolation, no hope, and
no comfort. The closer we come to the end of life, the closer we come
to the time when the labors, toils, efforts, aims, plans, and purposes
of this life shall all fade away and forever disappear.
But
as the children of God, we have the strong encouragement of the hope set
before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure
and steadfast and entering into that which is within the veil, where the
Lord Christ has gone before as a forerunner for us ( Hebrews
6:18-20 ).
2
Timothy 2:19-21
“Nevertheless
the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows
those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of
Christ depart from iniquity." 20
But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and
silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.
21 Therefore if anyone
cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified
and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.”
So
how do we enjoy our hope now?
I.
Have courage in the firm foundation that God knows
those who are His.
II.
Work with Joy towards the removal of all iniquity
that would dissolve our seal with God in Christ. Work righteousness
steadfastly.
III.
Do not place our focus on the physical vessels that
pass away.
IV.
Become a vessel of honor, by doing the will of God.
V.
Being prepared for good works is not enough, but
to be useful for the Master.
And
may we be faithful to him, and when called away, enter the joys of our
Lord in the soul's everlasting home.
If
heaven is worth anything, it is worth everything!
